The Route 66 Days festival in Strafford, Mo., is seeking arts-and-crafts and other vendors during the event on Sept. 9, according to the Springfield (Mo.) News-Leader. The rates for tables are pretty reasonable, too.

Route 66 tractor event is next weekend

The Pontiac (Ill.) Daily Leader has the details about the Route 66 Antique Tractor Roadshow on Aug. 12-13 that runs on the Mother Road from Airport Road in Normal to downtown Dwight. However, I don't see any tractor-tipping events on the schedule. 😉

Grand opening for Elk City museum postponed

I confirmed today that the grand opening celebration for the Route 66 Transportation Museum in Elk City, Okla., set for Saturday has been postponed because of a scheduling conflict. It will be rescheduled, but no date has been set.

Missouri holding Route 66 cruise next month

The Rolla (Mo.) Daily News has details about the Route 66 Association of Missouri's annual Motor Tour on Sept. 8-10, which will go from Litchfield, Ill., to St. Robert, Mo. The association's Web site is here, and the registration form is here.
