A couple of globe trotters
KOTV in Tulsa caught up with Ezra Cooley, the cowboy who wants to circle the globe on horseback and raise money for the National Children's Cancer Society. Much of his path is on Route 66. The video segment is here. The story is here.
That California trip
TrickyNic and a male companion of the United Kingdom traveled Route 66, and put together a collage of still photos and video in three parts. Part 1 goes from Chicago to Amarillo, Texas. It's funny to watch him tentatively eat the calf fries, then think: "Hey! These aren't half-bad!" Part 2 goes from Amarillo to … Continue reading That California trip
Route this way
Fundogteam, a bunch of German Frisbee dog aficionados, drove down Route 66 in Arizona and spent a lot of time at Hackberry General Store. The music is "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith and Run-DMC. I'm not sure why it works, but it does.
Around the world — on a horse
A restless fellow by the name of Ezra Cooley is riding a horse around the world and raising funds for the National Children's Cancer Society. Cooley stopped in Rolla, Mo., looking for old Route 66, reported the Rolla Daily News. He's already gone 7,000 miles, going from Chico, Calif., to New York City. More videos from Dwayne, Part 3
Here's a few more videos from Dwayne of New Zealand. Most of the footage here is in Oklahoma. It's interesting to watch his companion get a bit freaked out by a severe thunderstorm in the western part of the state. It's routine stuff for locals, but foreigners and non-natives tend to become frightened by them. … Continue reading More videos from Dwayne, Part 3
Compact guide to 66 in western Arizona
The Arizona Republic today published a compact guide to the portion of historic Route 66 that veers miles away from Interstate 40 from Seligman to Kingman. There's a lot more than that, but the article is good for starters.

More YouTubes from Dwayne of New Zealand. Here's one from western New Mexico, with images of Gallup's neon: Arizona sights, including Flagstaff, Holbrook, Williams, Oatman, the Black Mountains and the Painted Desert: On to California and the isolation of the Mojave Desert and the congestion of Los Angeles. Warning: There is brief nudity at the … Continue reading More videos from Dwayne, Part 2
More videos from Dwayne
Dwayne of New Zealand has posted a bunch of new videos from his recent Route 66 trip. Some Mother Road sights from Illinois, although I don't think the apocalyptic soundtrack of "Gimme Shelter" fits: More from Illinois and Missouri, including a lot of footage of Rich Henry and his pet rabbit Montana at Henry's Rabbit … Continue reading More videos from Dwayne
