Illinois county springs for two tourism billboards

One is near Broadwell. The other is near Atlanta. Logan County Tourism hopes the billboards draw motorists off Interstate 55 to check out the county's attractions, including Route 66. The Bloomington Pantagraph has the story.

Son of soccer legend will tour Route 66

Calum Best, the male-model son of late former soccer star George Best, is going to drive Route 66 on a motorcycle for a television show, according to the Belfast Independent. Riding with him will be Fran Cosgrave, a co-winner of a reality show, "Celebrity Love Island." You can read the story here.

The Mountain View Telegraph in Albuquerque has a story about Dennis Kinch, the man who's walking Route 66 to raise awareness for the National Pain Foundation. According to the story, Kinch's toughest stretch of road of 1,300 miles so far was near Clines Corners, N.M., where he encountered a stiff headwind walking uphill.
