Art Deco building in Tulsa for sale on eBay

If you love Art Deco architecture and Route 66, eBay has a building for you in Tulsa.

Keller Williams Realty has a 16,000-square-foot building on East 11th Street in Tulsa for sale. Opening bid is $495,000, with the auction ending on Oct. 26. According to the seller, it’s been extensively refurbished. And the rooftop area’s going to provide some gorgeous views of the city, as can be seen in the photos.

It’s zoned light commercial, but it looks like the seller is also marketing it as a possibility for lofts. Not a bad idea, especially with downtown and the University of Tulsa just a few miles away in each direction.

According to the Tulsa Preservation Commission, it’s the former Milady’s Cleaners building, built circa 1930. It’s listed as Zigzag-style Art Deco.

The first floor is covered with buff colored terra cotta. The second floor is covered with cream colored stucco which blends with the terra cotta. The building’s windows are surrounded with sculptured terra cotta depicting flowers, various fruits, and leaping stags. The building had cold storage for furs and utilized an underground spring for its cleaning process.

I don’t know whether the fancy sculptured terra cotta is still present. Even so, the building is a beaut.
