Berwyn tavern reopens after face-lift

Tiger O’Stylies, a tavern on Route 66 in Berwyn, Ill., has reopened after a $25,000 renovation, reports Suburban Life.

With about $9,000 in help from the Berwyn Development Corp., owner Tiger Hiller has seen his nightclub turn into a popular spot:

The BDC made the move to support Tiger O’Stylies’ renovation — with the City Council’s unanimous approval in March — saying it has become a Berwyn staple and go-to venue in the area for live rock music.

The renovations include a new bar, and remodeled interior with new brick, drywall and flooring. The work has allowed for larger dining and music areas, and the menu also has been expanded.

Here’s why Hiller bought the nightclub three years ago:

“I kind of stumbled upon it while driving down the street,” he said. “I just felt the need for live music and food in the area because not a lot of other places offer live music. With it being on historic Route 66, it seemed like a no-brainer because of the high visibility and amount of parking.”
