Sapulpa foundation launches fundraiser for a new Splash 66 splash pad

The Sapulpa Parks Friends Foundation of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, recently launched a fundraiser that includes the giveaway of a new Corvette to build a Route 66-themed Splash 66 splash pad in a park on the city’s south side.

According to the Sapulpa Times, the splash pad will be built at Kelly Lane Park, about a mile south of Route 66 in the city.

The fundraiser will be part of an opening of a food-truck park at 923 S. Main St. on April 23.

The foundation is inviting local businesses and individuals to contribute to help fund the new splash pad. Businesses and individuals who contribute will get their name on a paver to be installed at the splash pad, and businesses specifically will earn tickets to give away to shoppers who want their chance to win a brand new C8 Corvette that D-Luxe is providing as a giveaway. Tickets are limited to one per person per day per retailer, and the drawing for the Corvette will be at 7 pm on April 23rd. The winner must be 18 years and must be present to win.

Sapulpa Park Friends has posted a list of where to obtain tickets. Contributions are tax-deductible.

At least two other Route 66-related splash pads exist in cities along the highway, including Route 66 Splash Park in Sullivan, Missouri, and the Route 66 splash pad in Miami, Oklahoma.
