Scenes from the Historic Route 66 Fun Run in Arizona

Frank Kocevar, a former owner of Historic Seligman Sundries, took his video camera to Seligman and other parts of western Arizona during the Arizona Route 66 Fun Run last weekend.

It was the first time in two years the Fun Run had been held because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The annual event. in its 33rd year, typically draws between 900 to 1,000 vehicles to travel nearly 150 miles of pristine Route 66.

In the footage, you’ll see a number of familiar faces from the Route 66 community.

You’ll also see a guy who participated in the very first Fun Run in 1988 when it had just 152 entrants.

You’ll also see 95-year-old Angel Delgadillo, the so-called Angel of Route 66, welcoming participants and waving the starting flag in Seligman.

  1. Been there for Fun Run a few years ago! Best road ever. Great fun, wonderful memories. Great to see Angel again.
