Another Route 66 film?

The answer appears to be: "Maybe." I found an interesting tidbit in an OU Daily report about a film and video studies department event on Greek culture. The excerpt centers around Andrew Horton, a professor in the department. Horton, who leads a group of students to Greece each year, said the idea for this screening … Continue reading Another Route 66 film?

Another Route 66 movie is in production

I found out about this film recently from a comment by Susan in Tulsa-area blog, Batesline.com, on a subject that had little to do with Route 66. Susan was right. The sketchy information I gleaned from a variety of Web sites is this: Stand-up comedian and cartoon artist Harland Williams is in the middle of … Continue reading Another Route 66 movie is in production

Getting Smart on Route 66

Still impressive, however. … Continue reading Getting Smart on Route 66

Claire’s Diary from “Elizabethtown”

Surfing the film's Web site, I didn't see any stills or video that screamed "Route 66!!!" but some of the scenery in the clips suggests that part of the film takes place in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. The best part of the site for roadies is "Claire's America," which is the character portrayed by Kirsten … Continue reading Claire’s Diary from “Elizabethtown”

“Elizabethtown” has Route 66 ties

Apparently the new Cameron Crowe road-trip film, "Elizabethtown," has some Route 66 references. Check out the item from this review. In fact, Crowe captures many beautiful moments, from a widow's eulogy to her beloved spouse to the sensation of zooming down historic Route 66. I'll post more as I learn about the movie.
