Strafford, Mo., needs volunteers for its festival

If you live relatively close to the Springfield, Mo., area, the nearby Route 66 town of Strafford is seeking volunteers for its Route 66 Day celebration. The next planning session will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at City Hall, according to the Springfield News-Leader.

Oklahoma premiere of “Cars”

I attended the Oklahoma premiere of "Cars" on Saturday in Oklahoma City. It was a fundraiser for the Oklahoma Library Association's Endowment fund, and it was a big success.
